Wisdom of Bartholomew

Yesterday I took myself down to northern NSW, sat on the edge of a cliff and admire the ocean. It’s my go to place when life has thrown me a curve ball. Escape to the ocean. Sit and simply ‘be’.

On my way home, I was rummaging through a op shop and came upon some books. Lo and behold one book jumped out at me, with its torn cover, worn pages, I picked it up, held it for a moment and asked ‘what do I need to read’?  I don’t know why this still surprises me but it does… The Universe continually teaches me that anything I am thinking about or requiring deeper understanding of, always comes into my awareness before long, via a book, a song, a sign, whatever.

This was the paragraph that I turned to …

‘Many of you put yourselves into stressful positions. That is the wisest thing you can do if you want to become a Master. It is possible that those of you who have very safe and comfortable lives are in that state because you have not allowed yourselves to courageously follow those inner promptings that would lead you into areas of difficulty. Perhaps the reason your life is sweet and smooth is not because you are Enlightened but because you have all the chessmen set up on a board to your satisfaction and nothing is awry. You either have to move your pieces or your Deeper Self will move them for you. You can only hold your status quo for so long.’

This was the wisdom I needed to hear to help me recover from a situation that through me up in the air for a week or so.  We tend to go into varying degrees of self pity, blame, fear, loss, yet without situations (and other humans) rocking our lives where is the growth? Silver Birch continually reminds us that the pearl does not evolve in an oyster in still waters. It’s a difficult concept at times to accept isn’t it? Who likes the turmoil? Yet let’s not lose sight of the beauty that evolves from this… I’m sure that one day it will become clearer how those difficulties have paved the way for our souls growth.

Making choices that affect us and others.

We are all challenged from time to time with big life changing decisions. Which way do we go? Recently I had a big decision to make where I needed to weigh up a persons actions versus their words. Not easy to do, when the heart wants what it does.

As a medium, we are naturally sensitive. We feel deeply.  I’ve always known Im on a pathway of learning and accept that there is always work to be done within. As we attain one level of understanding we look ahead and realise there is more to unfold, more  growing to do and shedding of the old, releasing what no longer serves us.

During this transition of allowing a ‘love’ to move out of my life,  I was realising how beneficial it would be to spend time in nature.  Theres so many beautiful spots on the east coast we are spoilt for choice.  I thought about Stradbroke Island, how I love the wildness and the sheer beauty of the island but also I allowed the Universe to guide me.

Suddenly (within one day) a friend rang me about renting a cabin in the rain forest.

So, for winter, I am retreating into a place of quietude, beauty and tranquility, close to the gorgeous coastline, for a time of contemplation and focus. I am creating my own soul, body and mind health retreat where I can juice cleanse, rest up and write. I want to immerse myself in nature and begin feeding myself more positivity for positive energy elevates us to another level.

And am so grateful for this opportunity.

Til next time,
